Local Pro Wrestling held its inaugural event on October 5, 2019, in Clermont, Florida, performing in front of a sold-out crowd. What began as a passion project by founder Les Allier quickly evolved into a growing movement. Originally intended as a one-time event—with the encouragement (and permission) of his wife—Les reunited with wrestlers from his past experiences more than 15 years prior to bring his vision to life. The overwhelming response from the community made one thing clear: this wasn’t going to be a one-and-done.

Following that first success, Local Pro Wrestling hosted a Christmas toy drive at Corelli’s Pantry in Downtown Clermont, providing gifts for children in need. In early 2020, another event was held at the historic Puryear Building in Groveland on Saturday, February 29—a rare Leap Year date that made the night even more memorable. The show sold out, and just days later, the world came to a standstill due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Determined to reignite the spirit of live events, Local Pro Wrestling returned in October 2020 with a free community show at Stormy Hill Harley-Davidson in Clermont. This event featured live wrestling, bounce houses, food trucks, vendors, and a kids’ costume contest—offering a much-needed sense of normalcy and celebration. From there, the promotion continued to expand, hosting fundraising events in Apopka for local veterans, wrestling shows at venues in Orlando, Groveland, Ocoee, and beyond.

Today, Local Pro Wrestling proudly calls The Showcase of Citrus in Clermont its home base for monthly events, while also traveling to cities like Bushnell, Polk City, and Lakeland. What started as a single show has grown into a movement that brings fans together across Central Florida, one community at a time.
